Down the Hall to Foreverland
Hands clasped together
They walked down the hallway
Looking at the pictures on the wall
They nodded their heads
Close together
No words conveyed
In a busy conversation
‘Remember that…”
“I saw that one…”
They laughed softly
Holding each other close

They walked down the Hall
From the entrance
Close together they travelled
Towards the Exit
with the flashing light
Smiling as they walked out together
they walked into ForeverLand
Hands clasped tight

They were never found
The twin headstones
Remember their names.

Dreaming
I dreamt again of being free
Out of this confining walls
I dreamt of flying like a bird
Towards the sky I soared
I dreamt that I swam
Up and down the highway
Where clouds were fluffy
and ever so white
Upon the blueness
Of the sky,
Like coloured satin
There were words up so high
It said ‘Go back Now
It’s not time yet…’
I go crashing down to earth
To this miserable confines
And look at chemo tubes
Entering  my husk

Dreams II
I dreamt again of the mountain
Broodingly sombre against darkening sky
I felt the fear within my heart
For at the peak, stands the portal to the underworld
I awoke in tears because I knew
A family member would die soon
We buried my mother within that month

The girl awoke at the break of dawn
Run to her mother and told her dream
Of a huge crocodile coming into her room
The mother looked at her and smile
For soon she might have grandchildren
She patted her hair and thought of veils
The girl married her love that year

The sickly elderly woman woke
To the silent night
Smile and knew she would get well soon
For she dreamed she gave birth
Depicting her illness that has gone away
Birth by potions Shaman made
Next day she finished a bowl of porridge

The man avoided the wife that day
Silent did he go away
He dreamed she had two heads
Knew she was unfaithful to him
Avoiding her screams of denials
He left for a village far away
That year the woman married her lover

Dreams are thoughts of what may come
Sent by reflections from the nether realms
Uninhibited thoughts seep into the inner mind
Words unsaid with pictures showed
Where mortal coils are discarded for a while
Allow thoughts unhampered through form
Messages from where they are to where we are

Dreams of Him
I dream again
Of my lover true
On the landscape
Of my mind
Holding hands
Touching hips
Smiles in our hearts
Hopes in our souls
A new beginning
With new endings

I dream again
Of our home
Among the trees
Shaded by green canopies
A bright light
On the garden
With flowers
Of all hues
Possums and hares
gambol on the fields

I dream again
Of life that was
To the now
And will be.

Dreary Lane
The soughs of wind
The rustles of leaves
The low laughter
The whispers
They are heard in Dreary Lane;
Where they come from
And who they are,
No one knows but them who are
Tainted by dreadful blood of yore
Descents of ghouls, of the dead and more,
The ghostly apparitions in the night
That flits from shadows
Towards greyer shades,
The peepers through the window
A gash on the face
That translates to a smile
A look from grey green eyes
That freezes the soul
They come from the den
Where lost souls growl;
Flitting over the grass
On putrescent air
They visit you when the day
..is gone and gangrenous  twilight reign
In Dreary Lane.

Drifting    (In collaboration with Diddi)
Do you think of me
as I dream of you
your sun sinks in the sea
as I farewell my moon ,
gliding so free
I drift through the blue
endlessly ,
into the changing hue

Against the mountains
The sunrays do light
The blue eastern sky
Push forth its dawn
I stretch my arms
And my thoughts do stray
To you my Maya-mate it flies

Meet me in the occidental,
western summer skies
I will greet your oriental,
eastern loving eyes

Haste not to extend
The whisper of appeals
To this sojourner
For the skies are vast
Tribulations many
For here I shall tarry
For a time thats just

I do not whisper
nor do I differ
you are not just a fixture ,
picture or a figure ,
you are no maybe
my star , a sexy lady
I know I daydream
but you miss doe , was made for me

Hush keep your peace now
Dont speak of tomorrow
For a journey uncharted
For yesterdays tale is un-ended
Today I navigate a storm
And yours, your turbulence
Let there be peace in the Eastern sky
And tranquillity over your sleet grey heavens
Word then may be spoken
For now I remain your honest
Affectionate confidante

Ok then maybe one day
when the sky of grey
it goes away
but hear me as I have to say
I'll wait for you
forever to pray.

Drumming on Pain
It’s annoying how voices of wants and desires
pick at your ear drums all the time
they keep on saying the same words
repetitions that makes you want to wallow
in abject utmost insurmountable misery

they need your name and signatures
for everything you purchase, the bills
they need your hard earned money
to top up their bottomless coffer
they need they want they require

then they need your voice of agreement
to all they want to do, to you and your children
they operate the system for you, for them
they lay the law of taxes and excises
your percentages of your loans your debts

the land that God created on the earth
they want you to pay levy
or else they take it, piece by piece
you build a home in your own land
better ask them if you can or not

and then they ask you for your tithe
one tenth of your earnings or else
you will be frowned up, looked down
for shying away from paying God
to repair the church roofs

they are at you for not being sheep
running together, grazing  in the same fold
Bambi will not run with Thumper
Inter species dating and mating
Is a great big transgression

It’s a pain in the eardrums and mind
The needs and wants of all around
They want this and that, crippling you
The rich may grow filthy rich
But the poor stay poverty stricken.

Dryad's Speak; Funny Familiar Shades
Yellow, flickers of sunlight
through golden tousled hair
forming tiny perfect rainbows
fringing eyes of deepest blue
flecks of the sky
in contracting iris
soft blush pink lips smiling
showing pearly white teeth
we sojourned in hamlets
among the green
My first Love

Prism of colours
through falling tears
like a blaze of sunset
silver wings on leaving plane
carrying my love away

Raven hair, black as night
hair falling on shoulders
brown expressive eyes
looking down at me
comfortingly whispers
You will be alright
theatre lights flashed on
plummeting me to depths
of dreams and darkness
appendicitis out,
red hot pain flashed

there memories, not unlike...
pure crystal clear water
bubbling along a river bed
with brown, yellow and orange
pebbles, strewn with falling leaves
brown and grey towards decay

Lavender perfume
permeating through my room
scents of lilacs
teasing my dreams
ember in my heart
glowing in sync
with its beat
spurred on by hope
Alone now, with sepia photographs
of yesteryears
rose-tinted memories

I am walking towards
the rainbows of adventures
tomorrow

A masked man
a red haired girl
a sad looking young man
strumming his guitar
a beautiful naked woman
looking out of the window

animes, purpled haired
sensuous poses
Soulful eyes
rockers with their guitars
Cute bears on helicopters

pretty girl with pink hair
a few scythmen and flowers
a leopard and a wolf
with the cats and angels
hats and caps...pirates

citizens of DU district
population 17577 and growing

here they are poets
orators, story tellers
at times soapbox warriors
showing their true self

In DU the pompous and the sarky
the romantic and the pragmatic
the arrogant and the humble
live together

DU citizens
they don't look any stranger
than residents of anywhere.

Dust to Dust
God have Mercy
on the souls
of those who left
without a goodbye
to their beloved
they never knew

God have Mercy
on those who were left
scarred by their ordeal
traumatised by the winds
that swept their beloved
away from them

God have Mercy
on the torn land
not by the hands of man
but by that they lived on
the air, the water, the soil
they were innocent

God have Mercy
on us all
for how ever high and strong
we scream of our might
as sovereign of the Earth
we are mere dusts.

Dusts in her Eyes, Bring in the clown
shreds of papers at the corner of her bed
words written and spoken, all read
over and over in quests for meaning
lost between the lines
there are grains yet unseen
between cracks of written conversations

she clutches them all
like a drowning man to a straw
blowing warmth on them
like fanning a dying ember
or reviving popsickled fingers
bound to emotional keyboards

there are distant rainbows
in her midnight skies
if only she can see them
Yet hopes are shredded yellow ribbons
on branches of guava trees
not for the past but for tomorrow

bring in the clown today
for nothing can save shredded papers
unless the words are written again
though alphabets are hard to find
the clowns with the balloons
and the screamy laughing faces
are her guests today.

POEMS Page 11

Death's Minions

They sit in shadowy fields
on waving grey grasses
with oily blades
rustlings of unspeakable beneath
the knotted dead reeds

they look towards the hamlet
on sloppy hillocks afar
listening for wails of grief
when death harvest
the drooping sheaves

then they come with scissors
silver reflecting the moon
to cut the cord of spirits
from empty human coils
for souls to God they leave

these spirits they harvest
spirits of good and evil
to work their way around
in dark shadowy realms
for dreamscapes and nightmares

for moments in the night
for changes of scenes
for hopes through omens
and fear through phantasms
with these they to humans bestow.

Dedicated to my friend
My friend
The sky is blue today
It kisses the sea beyond
The ocean’s azure glow
Lighted up by the sun
The waves incessant
pounding
On the sandy shore
Crashing and swishing
And back again
I feel gentle zephyr
Its caressing blow
Upon this sweaty brow
And I know
Everything’s going to be alright

My friend
You feel so down today
The world is just so grey
Music discordant play
Plays strange sad melodies
You feel the tug of sadness
Plucking your sleeves
You want to cry
And mourn against the world
You wish you can fly,
free yourself from life’s shackles
But love is your anchor
Hope is your everlasting hold
that the many tomorrows
will be better than today

My friend
I stand with you today
Holding your hands
I just want to say
My confidante, mate, my friend
You have a place within
this little heart of mine
Your sadness
Is mine to witness
Though the burden’s unshared;
Your disillusionment
I do understand;
I have nothing to offer
But my heartfelt prayer
That your tomorrows will be alright.

Dedicated to you

A silent hello
A raucous laugh
A soft heart
A brave face
You are there
When you need to
And when you are needed
Sometimes you brush everything away
As if they do not matter anyway
When it does matter though
You just stand your
Ground and
Fight.
I am
Proud
To know
You!

Deeper than LongerFor by Whom

like a lighted candle
haloed by muses
within this portal
we meet, almost lovers

Oceans Apart

hear the melodies plucked
by nimble fingers on aged guitar
read the dove-tailed words
written, like heartbeats

Deeper Than

a plunging vine to deeper than
an abyss to never and forever
train that chugs to ever more
Dup love for all that's here

Desire

To walk the meadow
Where peace does reign
To sit among flowers
And fairy rings

To lay and dream
Of queens and kings
And magical kingdom
Where butterflies sing

To dress in diamond sequinned gowns
And dance the night on sparkling ice
To be folded in my beloved’s arms
To laugh to love to kiss

Desires are dreams
That may not come
But sweetness all the same
Just dreamy fantasies

They may not be secrets
Deep or shallow
They are just lurking wishes
fantasy, my deepest desires.

Desperate Living

Fear of missing out
made him sit up all night
to watch the race on TV
and football matches
even the girly advertisements

he scours the obituary pages
smiling grimly he's not there
yet, maybe he will go for a drive
to look at the paint
of his neighbours' houses

he thinks about sitting in the pub
drinking beer and reminiscing
about all the girls he scored
while married to his children's mom
now he's desperately alone

he watches the boats coming in
one by one, with their catch
he sees the big the medium the small
fishes all in the box
he wants to know how they do it

He knows time is running out
he won't live to a hundred and two
If he does what will he do
gum a chicken and pee a tree?
so he's looking at all he can see

only the opulent have bucket lists
he says to me, I'm not a passenger
silently I turn away, does it matter
money will not buy you a minute more
if the grim man visits you today.

Despite it all

Despite my laugh
My rambunctious roar
Of mirth and happy gurgles
Despite my dancing in
Purple haze of joy
The deeper me
Is just grey

Despite the gaiety of it all
The dancing at the ball
The flirtatious gait
The party fox
Despite it all
I am just
Grace
So judge me not for this
My ever happy laughter
Think me not a clown
Hoping for the applause
from a crowd of revellers
I too have many thoughts
Of me, you and all of them
Despite it all

Destiny's Joke

scroll of achievement
on her hands, as a lighted
baton to hold up high
as she runs through life

earned through sweat and tears
at last the illuminating paper
framed and mounted
like a beacon on her wall

smiling into the light
laughing with delight

tomorrow I will enchant
the whole world

with the might of my pen
with the sharpness of my brain

I will change the world

from the darkness to brightness

smiling through averse conditions
laughing at her adversary
writing furiously against wrongs
months are turning to years

she fights on running on battlegrounds
shooting like crazy at shattered bodies
writing to her papers, angrily
right the wrongs write the wrongs!

the drones droned on at night
the politicians bury her colleagues
they are shot while having a cigarette
she cries in agony at typhoons anger

deep lines on her face
sagging cheeks know no smile
eyes stark with fear and anger
stare into the darkening world

Light of the Moon

reflecting on crashing waves

like silvery water

on bowls of darkness

standing alone

looking into the horizon

she knew the coldness
was her destiny

she writes on furiously
getting the screaming words
out of her head
she is not atlas...

No not at all
but she writes on.

Destroyed Slowly

There is always an obliteration of what once was
it’s a paradox, a conundrum about initiated efforts
that came to naught, just a gape mouth
stance, wondering what it was all about

It started so early, even at the beginning
he knew it but hid it in the recess of his mind

the labour of patching up leaking roofs
could have been much easier
than stopping the mouth that rants
fouling up all efforts that taxed much

soothing words and compromises

professing eternal devotion, adoration

how was it that the gleam of sullenness
the inaudible impatience were missed
before the day the rings were placed lovingly
on fingers and thus bonded two souls

he wanted to always drown in her loving eyes

willing her to swim in the peace of his thoughts

he didn’t see the eyes that scoured
the hallway for familiar faces
of lovers, casual or otherwise
he drank in her sparkling eyes and smiling lips

lending her strength, taking her up in his arms
as she floundered though her self-loathing

he was there and not really anywhere
standing on a pool of light
that he hoped would illuminate her
in her circling to take flight

she wished to fly away and be lost
yet wanted his arms to weigh her down

the implosion of hued emotions
was nigh complete, he held her tight,
in his mind and in his heart…
frightened and vaguely desperate

resenting him for impeding her flight
yet deep inside, adoring him with all her heart

the decaying matter on his boot
was rapidly spreading, it wouldn't stop
he wondered what it was all about
but he knew he was being destroyed

…slowly.

Did I hear you Right

Distraught he fell on his knee
They were coming for him
irate parents know no mercy
the law says he was ROAC
and he had USWAM
they sounded like venereal diseases

so he cried on her lap
sobbing his broken heart out
he knew he will rot in jail
as a pedophile

He says…

forgive me my sweet girl

give me your hands, don’t cry

just be strong while I tell

you a tale of bittersweet goodbye

I love you very much baby
I love having you in my arms
the warmth of your curvaceous body
light up the core of my soul
you are my everything and more

I thought you were twenty
you told me so, I believed you
O my darling until I saw
your birth certificate
its says you are fifteen

Did I lie to myself
blinded by your body so voluptuous
the puffy pink lips kissing me
so wisely everywhere
giving so much pleasure, receiving more

Somehow I should have known
the innocence of your smile
the suppleness of your figure
you can’t be a child, that makes me cry
what have I done, what did I do

My fault was just loving you
but I didn't know….

Did you say Today

waiting like a shadow
under a fading moon
growing paler
as the night gets serious
at the empty table

smidgens of leftover
on red napkins
seems to mock
have you eaten today
what how did you...when?

walking away
three hours later
was it today
did you say the day
to be today

you never came.

Did you Say That

ambiguous really,sadly stated
pushing and pulling, negotiating
paused for thoughts
many head scratches
to do or not to do

words are easy to write down
conjuring up beauty sparkles
strings of rare pearls
diamonds like stars on velvet
diadems on the sky

mud over green grass
usually doesn't make pretty
or burnt cinders on pits
better for blooms
although habouring a bee or two

did you say that
brass on windows reflects too
not as clear as mirrors
but they don't break
too easily, I'd say.

Digging deeper for Me

long stares into the fading sun
within my mind
desperately shifting among dead leaves
on vague path in memories
buried beneath layers of pain
I look for me, the real me

I remember many yellow sunrises
and glorious hues of sunsets
were they real

I am lost in this darkness
the flame of my memory fading
living an existence of repeated breath
like a fixed crystal pirouetting ballerina

I am lost...a maze repeated
I am digging deeper to find me
lost somewhere
within life's charade
but I feel like I am drowning
I am lost.

Dirge of a broken heart

Love is to give and share
to hold to keep to declare
but as the golden circle
that binds do break
dew drops from aching hearts
fall unheeded on deeply furrowed souls
to ache to hurt in exquisite pain
Knowing not how to love  again

Holding on to strangers' hands
willing to hope and feel again
but nary a sound the heart do gain
how far or further still the willingness
to say to talk to speak to tell
the feelings once felt
When one love's hand touches
though it end in betrayal

Meander the crack in hearts do break
cracking like frozen ice in antartica
Following the falling leaves of autumn
dead and helpless in its descent
Watching him with his new love
a nail in love's coffin hammered
while within dying heart screams

Do you even Remember

Do you even remember
The trees falling over from
Your mighty axe
As we clean the land
For our homestead

Do you even remember
The glow of the fire
On our faces
As we spoke of our dreams
To live off the land

Do you even remember
Our pledge to toil
On fertile loamy ground
To tie the sheaves
To jump the broom

Do you even remember me
Who wiped your brow
Who slaked your thirst
Who nursed your hurts
Who gave you comfort

I am still here
A shadow of your past
As you are shadows in mine
Time will not rewind
But memories remind

Dog Day Heaven

Days of uncertainties, and hunger pains
a thin line of sharp ache along his stomach
scrapped to its bones from within and without
big longing eyes couldn’t fill the emptiness

on well-worn path trodden every day
he travels on in hope of some scraps
a kind look,  a gesture of kindness
he wants so much to feel their affections

he looks at himself on reflecting tin cans
he was handsome once, he thinks
the cans smell lovelier than they look
if only there is something inside, alas no

he sits there at the pavement
looking up at the people passing by
spare a dime, whispers the beggar near him
he looks away, he will work for food

a boy, a few years to being a man
stoops to look at him,
a mangy dog with tufts for fur
says hey boy, what’s your name boy…

he smiles into the darkest brown eyes
and slowly feels the warmth
his body fuses into one long happiness
dance, and his bare tail wags

he is not looking back, just memories
that travels like a shiver through his body
now covered in long golden sheen
fully back in his person, a Labrador

he snuffs in his sleep
his legs pumping, chasing rabbits
the boy nearly a man now
smiling, scratches him on his head.

Don’t love me

A thread of spectral
Wish floats upwards
Towards skies of hopes
In wants hands grope
In need of arms
Embracing and giving
I watch in pain
For you love in vain
I can’t love you

A prayer in whispers
To the Gods above
To be loved back
I would if I could
Love you too
With all my strength
Give you my everything
But I can’t love you
I am too broken inside

Sobs and tears
Will break my heart
I will cry with you
I will hold you tight
Rock you in the night
Tell you everything’s alright
Wipe the tears away
Loving you, No I can’t
Cos I will just hurt you

Just love me tonight
let me go tomorrow
Leave the cigarettes
Burning on the tray
Savour the wine
Touch my face
Long Kiss goodbye
Close your eyes
As I walk away.

Don’t pardon the Pun

Truth is hard to tell I know
Even though it’s there to see
He got hot under the collar
When I told him
his boogers bungeed off  his nose
And he began seeing red
when he overheard me said
he was all froth and no substance
what can I say, he could not go the distance
Truth is indeed hard to tell

He asked me for a second date
I went again, resigned to my fate
He was all fingers but no thumps
When I said I needed something perky
He looked at my breasts
Spilled the coffee right on me
He stumbled up to wipe me off
It can be said I felt dis-tainted
He tried to kiss me full on the lips
Slipped and fell, I gave him the slip

The last date was full of fun
We laughed together fit to be tied
Fell all over ourselves in the car
Tried to love and make sparks fly
No spark flew nary a nod
The spark plug was dead
And the greases dried
He skipped the cigarette
And left right away
Goodbye, I said: I love a man with staying power.

No tears for her leaving
no gifts of bouquet of sorrow
impede not with tearful pleas
do not hold back with dirges

no putrefaction of the flesh
no thoughts on these, to feed

the forests that seem to burn
with the blazes of a setting sun
the hues of blooms at dawn
let them be her memories of joy

no thoughts on sod atop her

no sad reading of death pain

the larks that sing at waking
the swallows that flit in the sky
the slow drone of the dragonfly
the flirtatious flutter of the butterfly

let beauty of the last memories

be her bed of ignorance

let them all be her companion
as she nestles down to die
to close her eyes for ever more
and enter her own elysian fields

she says goodbye as she said hello
the end of a beginning to the end.
