POEMS Page 7

Can't You See
Do you see where you're going to
a pulsing organ in a mass of flesh
doesn't feel anything at all
just keeping you talking walking zombiefied

Do you know what you are doing now
jerking and working for a pound
maybe a dime or two at a time
to feed the need to buy the happy fix

Do you know what the world is going to
academics to keep you in line
like begging for bread in your own backyard
toe the line or go to hell

Feeding on and dying on this Earth
mining it pulverising it for your good end
kill your neighbours they are taking too much
the oiled veins are drying steal theirs too

there is a hole in the sky
to the blue beyond
reach out on woven dream
was it good for you too?

time is come, the Walrus says
to walk into the dreaming
Old Atlas is almost done
carrying the Orb.

Celestial War
Flash of lightning
Roars of thunder
Titans clash
Over the thundery clouds
Beyond the blue
Beneath the light
Flashing through Eons past
They fight still

Warriors in wings
Over the sky they fly
Anti-them fly up
From the world beneath
They clash on mid-sky
Steels of silver
Flashing blue
with fiery flames

Swishes and cuts
Parry and thrusts
War among the stars
Between the invincible
Heralding the coming
Of the white
And the conquest
Of the dark

Roars, screams, warrior cries
The winds rushes
The eagle screams
The eyries are empty
The dragons awake
Wings of seraphs
Wings of legions
From dark domains

The world beneath
In deathly silence
Waits the end
With bated breath
The war in heavens has begun
Haloes and stars
Fire, blazing dusky light
Wait until dawn
Its Armageddon.

Changes
As I passed you by today
I looked at you
Hoping for a smile
You turned away
Did not wave, nor say
Hello or goodbye
As you usually do

I walked on silently
While you looked the other way
When I looked back
You were staring at me
With indifference in your eyes
They pierced me
Like a thousand knives

I don’t know why
You turned away
I don’t know what
Made you change so fast
I don’t know where
You got that stare
Of ‘I don’t really care’

I don’t know when
I will know why
You don’t want
To be my friend
Or how I can ever
Touch your heart
Like before

I only know
That I never stopped
Loving you
As a friend
A confidante
A messenger or lover
Cos I love still…

Changes Changed
Free the thoughts of intricacies
strained to break the gossamer threads
to run across the busy street
to dodge carriages and automobiles

a change indeed from the mundane
so clear a route the dusts settled
need me a change from dodging darts
sit me down on heated pool

So here I am the change incomplete
Nothing to fear till twilight time
when aloneness gibber to be heard
changes changed but nothing's new.

Changes II
Paddy terraced on the hills
a green so deep and yet so still
hot the sun during harvest time
no time to play or dream
of laughter, leisure and good times
I wish I was so filthy rich
and have someone do the job for me

The sea that mirrors azure skies
yet could boil in deadly rage
With coils of waves so high
that  the brave stay along the shore
thinking of loss from fishing
for dinner and coffer
wishing he has a larger trawler

The forest, gigantic trees
gazetted as a park by those who knows
to conserve nature at its best
yet hunter looks with longing
to hunt that fat wild boar
for his growing family
No meat the dinner table show, just wild potatoes

Change the life, if only we can
of needy people who live off the land
paddy planters, the fisherman, the hunter
Just watching as life goes by
thriving for money only the rich can see
children ragged from unmet needs
changes we need, when will it be…

Chants for Life Everafter
Hearing the chants
appealing for nirvana
the path of righteousness
be walked on life long

the birds chirp by the temple
where monks chants on
om mane padme hum
a key a call a prayer

here I keep a journal
of my journey
full of pain, hopes, prayers
undone by happenings beyond control

I'm dying and know it
for no one lives a thousand years
in my mind I am chanting
Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison

for what sins committed
for what wrong done.

Chaos
You came into my life
Showed me everything beautiful
Held me and told me everything’s alright
Made me feel my life was full
You were heaven’s threshold
I was the poor fool

The whirlwind of your uncertainty
Then crashed my world
You put my life on hold
You pushed me into the whirlpool
And made me feel like drowning
In chaos of no, maybe or let’s see

My nights are fragmented now
Between deep, shallow and skates
Ripples that go in squares
Sighs that ends in wails
Tears on my pillows
Emptiness in my heart

You are chaos
Disciplined
I am chaos
A victim
Of my own heart
Chaos reign and I still love
truly.

Chaos II
Fling the souls on rains of sulphur
Traverse through the sea of blood
Roaring through nights of glittering ember
Trouble stir in Paradise
Evil nest on threshold of Eden
Chaos rise from the vault of lusts
Siring pandemonium

From the East discontent settles
Furls its wings and raises its head
Discordant voices sing sinister choirs
Of owning and keeping and wanting
Gems worth nought but whispers of desire
Nestled high up on cleft cliffs
Chaos grin and caper, trilling encouraging noises

From the South stirs the power that be
Killing from afar through masquerades
After rubbing and reshaping dark smudges
On tapestry of black, red and gold
Before the coming of the White
Wandering into dream world
Was then not aided by the peyote

The west is won or so they say
They sire greed more than one can stand
Sitting up on iron platform,
Bunched fists towards the sky
Declaring gods are there no more
They are the ones that sit on thrones
Listen to them or you shall die

The North is quietly brilliantly in turmoil
The righteous shoots the clamouring noises
Salutes of old, the iron fists
Live again behind the face of fear
The land turns and the earth quakes
In some obscure town darts rip
Through the growing cribs

Chaos reigns throughout the land
Gossamer threads hold together heads
To calm the tumultuous waters
Voices of poets, orators and bards
Cry out tales of peace and harmony
Beneath these tales chuckling demons
Whisper words of envy and lust, pandemonium

On the soapbox the close-shaven prophet dies
At  the temple on the seven hills
The grey robed King, walks away
Chaos dance through the purple sphere

Charms Incantations
Pale circle Hecate's breath
aura of power 'neath heavens
beyond circles of souls
around the earthly realm
festival of darkness rings

power given taken and spent
Selene's fair countenance
shine not for me this night
more I pray for Hecate's strength
and power to spur my allure

for desire I to be looked upon
fair and alluring to sleeping Adonis
to most not fair to mine eyes
god of charm personified
hear me daughter of an ancient god

for surely thine eyes hath feasted
long and hard upon mortals beauty
some sired and born of them
by thy lust thy never ending thirst
for burning human touches

thus I touch thy robes hem
'Pon my knees on this ground
plea I for thy blessings
grant me the light of thy allure
the beauty of thy countenance

Neath the waning moon
Selene's beauty Hecate's strength
Beauty charm and cunning
imbue in this body
heart and soul.

Cheaters Cheat while Cheating
loving one adoring the other
kissing another embracing her
he sings his lyrical scripts
he is loving lover personified

because he's a one woman man
he cannot love another
yet he cheats whenever he can
he is beside her with her

His Juliet is also Julia
who is also Jill and Jane
he makes love to different faces
different bodies within one

he is hung up on one
with different voices and poise
he is stuck on his only
love, strumming her body

In a room of women
garbed in gossamer dresses
of every seductive fashion
within the corral of his mind.

Children in the Light
walking behind the shops
in busy bustling Bangkok
I saw the faces of angels
lighted by a flickering flame
of a candle on a beer bottle

they patiently waited
as an older child divided
the roti in equal parts
they got a fist-full each
and they ate with delight

on a sidewalk of Manila
a little girl held a baby
holding out one hand
'please spare a coin
my brother is hungry'

'my mom was taken
by the Police
we don't know why
but they left us behind'
my coins were not enough

behind the bazaar of Jakarta
a boy was crying
his hands over his face
some bully just stamped
on rice, that was for his mother

'my mother is sick
she can't work anymore
my father left us
for another'
he just cried on

On the streets of Kuala Lumpur
looking up at big white tourists
they held out their hands
for change, just a sen or two
refugees from another country
but children all the same.

* children of the world are all the same, no matter what colour they are, or what language they speak...*

Circle in a Triangle
I wish I could lead
my faltering steps home
To where all things bloom
With every rosy hues
Of adoration and happiness
Folded arms around me
Warm breath upon my nape
A dance in rooms
Of velvet desires
Lined with wants
Cushioned in contentment

I wish I could beg
Break not this circle
Of strengthen gold
End the hardness brought
From words unsaid
Accusations conveyed
tired eyes saw vows cracked
On hopeless pavements
Fidelity gone with a gust
Of the winds of temptations
On exposed flesh

I begged, lead the third not
Into the golden circle
With words soft
Like soughing caresses
Sweetened with deceits
Laced with lies
Promises of love
As yet unfelt
Just cravings for newness
In clefts of flesh
Pleasures tasted to taste anew

Silence, so I leave you
To savour and feed
That just you know how
Remember the spoken vow
Of forever more
Broken it will be in the morrow
Mourn I in sorrow
For the while that I shall sing
The dirge of love’s death
You will soar as high in your ecstasy
To fall to the ground once more

The circle will have been broken
To be mended, no more...

Coffee and cream
At the park, brown and white
Holding hands o’ so tight
You smile at me
Blue eyes twinkling
A lady asked
‘are you his tour guide?’

At the shops, you held the basket
I walked behind
Admiring the sales
I held your hands
A girl asked
‘how much are you paid as housekeeper?’

At the beach waiting for you
As you snorkelled in the water
Sitting on the beach towel
Admiring your moves
Another asked
‘is your employer with his wife’

At the entrance of a museum
The caretaker looked at you
‘welcome sir
Do you like our country so far
When did you arrive?
At me, ‘are you hosting him?’

The shallow mind
I get tired of it
White overlords
Always the master
Brown little coolies
Always the servants!

Know you, world
Love goes beyond colours
Togetherness goes beyond ethnicities
Laughter goes beyond languages
Union goes beyond countries
We are all red blooded humans

Coffee kisses
Coffee Kisses,
gentle hugs
Tropical dawn,
on winters day
A touch on the cheek
A smile on the lips
A look exchanged
The day begins

Coffee kisses,
passion bright
The day is done
Its time for night
Conversations on balcony
Laughter heard
On midnight air

A vision so bright
Woven in the fabric
Of happy-glittered thoughts
Hopes and wishes
Whispered through the air
For coffee kisses.

Coffee Talk
A collaboration by Goodest and  Grace

The cold night
The gushy wind
The starlight
Shining silver high in the sky
What do they remind you of;
The warmth of lover's embrace
Or the dark loneliness
On a loveless night

Time and time again, I stop and tell myself
And watch as natural Beauty confiscates my breath
And utterly speechless I am left
As I am truly a fan of this type of theft
But is it all just a dream
At times, that is how it seems
Will my Love ever be redeemed
Forever cold without the presence of my queen

Whispers of needs, of desires
Regards sent through blowing winds
Sent like caresses of loving fingers
With gossamer kisses and moonlit smiles
Across the realm of dreams
Queens are made by loving Kings
But, Goodest dear, friends
Are made with loyal minds

God's Beautiful Grace
Lives in you at every trace
At every corner, at every turn
Inspiration from you is all i learn
No magic tricks, no enchantments, no spells
As a queen of Beauty, how can you fail
Because I felt the touch of perfection within your pen
That is why I'm so happy to call you my friend

Footnote* I never found out Goodest's real name but he was/is
a fine writer.

Collecting diamonds
come, let me pick out thorns
from stalks of roses
gifts from a broken dream
scattered on feet too bruised
to dance
hurry for winter comes

free, cut the twine binding promises
holding together what was and is
whispers in tokens coins of silver
chase the caresses of naiads
on rivers of needs desires
tearing me from images
or canopied walks

silence the bell
no more calls by its tolling
rice mouldy on church floors
windows broken
wind whistling in
and I wait outside
looking into the emptiness.

Colours
You stand like a goddess
Silhouetted against the blazing
Setting sun
Your white diaphanous robe
Floating behind you
Blown by the wind
Your hair flowing to your waists
Shifting in the wind
Like ebony curtains

You stand tall like a warrior prince
A shifting shadow in the dusk
Against the darkening sky
Your sword sheathed by your side
Your shoulder, wide
Your eyes fixed at the distant
Far horizon
Where your kingdom once was
Now laying in dolorous ruins

You are the priestess
You are the seeking prince
The soothsayer the seeker
The traveler and the destination
The lyrics and the song
You are the one and many
A single angel and legion
A best friend and a stranger
You are Gemini and Solitude
